Cause of Acidity

A variety of things can induce acidity. Additionally, these elements can be divided into three main categories, which are described below.

Food

Your diet has an impact on how well your body digests food and functions generally. When it comes to acidity, it is caused by eating the incorrect things together at the wrong time or by eating spicy, fried food right after soda or a milkshake. Here are some instances of mindless eating that could cause acidity.

  • Eating fried, spicy food, cooking with too many spices, garlic, cloves, and hot peppers.
  • Eating baked goods and much-fermented dishes.
  • Excessive tea/coffee consumption, typically more than two cups every day.
  • Inadequate hydration.

Lifestyle

Your diet, no matter how healthy or wholesome, is useless if you do not exercise regularly and get adequate sleep each night. The following are some lifestyle choices that can cause hyperacidity.

  • Working nonstop and not taking breaks.
  • Sleeping soon after the meals.
  • No adequate rest or sleep.
  • Eating excessively or eating after not having fully digested the previous meal.

Emotional and Mental State

Your body behaves in accordance with how you feel and think. Your digestion might be hampered and affected by a bad emotional or mental state. Here are a few typical emotional or mental stressors that cause hyperacidity.

  • Stress at work or a lack of enjoyment at work.
  • Difficulties with fear, anxiety, and rage.
  • Stressing out too much about unmet goals and objectives might sometimes make you feel sick.

Symptoms & Signs of Hyperacidity

Every person has a varied prakruti and may have various acidity symptoms. However, the majority of people tend to have a few specific acidity symptoms. Let’s look at it.

  • Acidity is indicated by chest, throat, and heartburn that is frequently followed by sour belching. Even when you are starving, these symptoms frequently cause an aversion to food.
  • Additionally, you can develop acid reflux, which is characterized as the regurgitation of food laced with stomach acid. In severe circumstances, acid reflux frequently results in recurrent vomiting or loose stools.
  • Another typical acidity sign is bloating, discomfort, and weight gain due to the production of extra gas in the lower belly.

Home Remedies for Treating Hyperacidity

Acidity or hyperacidity is the burning sensation in the stomach that gradually rises ‌ in the oesophagus and causes moderate-to-extreme discomfort, characterized by belching and acid reflux. Acidity might result from a sedentary lifestyle and careless eating patterns. Certain foods have the potential to upset the digestive process and cause an overproduction of stomach acid.

Chronic acidity can also cause heartburn, a persistent chest pain that feels like you’re being poked by multiple needles at once. As you lay down and attempt to go to sleep, the discomfort and anguish progressively worsen.

Medicines that help to treat symptoms of hyperacidity include Kaidaryadi kashyam, Indukantham Kashayam, Veeratharadi Kashayam, Jeerakarishtam, Dhanwantharam gutika, etc.
