Lord Dhanvantri is considered as an Incarnation of Lord Vishnu who appeared holding a Pot of Amrit ( nector of immortality ) in his hands from the ocean during its churning by Gods and Demons (Samudra Manthan). As per Ancient Vedic Texts, Lord Dhanvantari is considered as the Father of Ayurveda for providing Good Health, Strength, Energy and Longevity of all beings of universe including Gods and Demons. Even in today’s modern era, the field of Ayurveda is gaining more and more importance and a lot of researches being done in this field which is supposed to have been promulgated by Lord Dhanwantri.

Lord Dhanvantari Mantra or Dhanwantri Mantra is the prayer addressed to appease Lord Dhanvantari ( the God of Ayurvedic medicine ). Lord Dhanwantari is considered to be the first practitioner of Ayurveda for Good Health, Energy & Strength.

Meaning of Dhanvantari Maha Mantra :

We pray to the God known as Sudarshan Vasudeva Dhanvantari. He holds the Kalash (pot) full of nectar of immortality. Lord Dhanvantri removes all fears and removes all diseases. He is the well wisher and the preserver of all the three worlds. Dhanvantari is alike Lord Vishnu, empowered to heal every soul and living being. We bow to the Lord of Ayurveda.
